Rivalry Week: Chippewas vs. Broncos

It’s the week most CMU and WMU students look forward to. The week where insults fly and students strive to be the better school with their skills and their jokes. Whether it’s saying CMU squirrels > WMU girls or CMU students end up on the streets, students have taken the creativity on social media to the next level.

Other students will let their football players do the talking.

Central Michigan will travel to Western Michigan this Saturday, October 10th, for the showdown to begin at noon.CMU is 2-3 and WMU is 1-3. Last season Western took the win in Mount Pleasant leaving the score 32-20. The game Saturday will result in a passing game. The Chips have the No. 3 passing offense in the MAC and the Broncos are No. 4. CMU averages just ten more yards a game. For Western, putting pressure on Centrals quarterback Cooper Rush will be a key factor for them. He has good success throwing the ball, but if the Broncos can establish a good running game it will be quite the game to watch.

This is going to be a great game Saturday. Centrals coach, Bonamego, will be taking the Chips against the Broncos for the very first time. Two good teams, beautiful weather and a stadium full of students ready to cheer their team to a victory.

It will be a game full of rivalry. Every time these two schools play emotions run high and both teams will be hungry to come out on top.
