Detroit Red Wings Finish Preseason On Top

Another preseason for the Red Wings has come and gone and the boys finish without a regulation loss. You can’t help but wonder the thoughts Toronto’s head coach, Mike Babcock had after being defeated by the Wings in a home and home series.

I’m sure you all know, Babcock is the Red Wings previous head coach. He held that position for ten years. After his departure, Grand Rapids Griffins head coach Jeff Blashill was called up to the plate.

Jeff Blashill is already doing big things. His first year as the Red Wings head coach and hes already off to one hell of a start. Preseason ended with the Wings being 6-0-2 (14 points) with the top record in the Eastern Conference. Blashill is looking like a God to Detroit fans. I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing him on multiple occasions and he will change Detroit hockey for the better and prove to fans that “it’s more than hockey.”

The Red Wings start their regular season Friday, October 9th against none other than the Toronto Maple Leafs and their previous head coach. A lot is at stake Friday. But there isn’t another team as prepared as ours.

The younger players are exceeding all expectations and to think that they could only improve is nothing but a great thought to all Red Wings fan. There’s only positive things to come this season.

It might be a little early to start making predictions, but under Blashills coaching it looks like we will be headed to 25 straight years of playoff appearances!

It’s more than hockey. It’s hockeytown. #LGRW
