Teemu Pulkkinen: Back in Grand Rapids

After his first NHL goal with the Detroit Red Wings, it’s back to the minors for Pulkkinen. He got a chance to show off his famous shot which sent it past the Minnesota Wild’s goalie Tuesday night after a beauty of a pass by Stephen Weiss. His hard shot that everyone raves about, was shown.

Pulkkinen was drafted 111th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Close to setting the franchise record last night for eight consecutive games with a goal, he fell short and remains tied with Donald MacLean.
There are big things to come from Pulkkinen this season. He got a taste of the Red Wings ice and he will be fighting to continue to be on his road back to Detroit because he said “just one goal isn’t enough.”
“When you try harder to score, you never score,” Pulkkinen said. “So you just have to keep going and keep calm and relaxed and play the way you always play.
Griffins face a tough team, Utica Comets, Friday at the Van Andel Arena at 7pm. Coach said as long as the boys play the sixty minutes, the Comets better be ready.
